Luck...plus the East sucks anyway.

The Cavs were lucky enough to play against teams that had weaknesses and they took advantage, like good teams are supposed to do. The Wizards were without their top two stars, Gilbert Arenas and Caron Butler. The Nets never had an inside scorer so they were forced to rely on J. Kidd, Vince, and R. Jefferson. The Pistons were too overconfident and cocky. And that's why the Cavs are here. They are not the best team in the East, but they were the best in the playoffs, and that's what its all about.

The main reason is because of how weak the east is --- any one of the eastern playoff teams probably could've made it because they're all equally bad (and Cleveland just happened to be the last one standing by default.) Also, Detroit (the supposed best of the rest) didn't seem interested for some reason. The talk is that this years Cavs are the worst team to ever make the NBA finals.

It was a combination of LeBron playing at an amazing level, and the fact the Detroit can't seem to stay focused for an entire series, again. We saw it last year against the Cavs, and again this year against Chicago and the Cavs again. As big of a Detroit fan I am, I give the credit to LeBron for stepping up and taking over.

By being in the crapy conference. I bet the Clippers, Warriors and even the Laker would dominate in the east. These should not be the finals. Spurs, mavs, or Spurs suns, or Suns Mavs. Now thats what finals should look like. People would actually watch that stuff. NBA should do away with the conferences and play 16-1, 15-2,14-3 etc. So no team is rewarded or penalized by being in the crappy or tough conference.

There is know other reason, also the east does not have a lot of good teams so the Cav's had a pretty easy to get there.

Because the Cavs won all series, vs the Wizards, Nets, and Deeeeeetroit Pistons.

Because Daivd Stern wanted a drawing card in the finals. So he pulled what ever strings he has up there in his NY office and made sure Lebron James played in the NBA finals.

That goes to show how pathetic the Eastern conference.

Their conference champion could easily be beaten by any West playoff team.

With Donyell Marshall and Daniel Gibson. Definitely not Varejao, I trust that guy with the ball as far as I can throw him.
