How the hell are people able to beleive hulaballoo like scientology and mormonism among others. I know that they're all wrong, but come on. And don't get mad. Just tell me how it is humanly possible to beleive this stuff without question. Science proves it all wrong.

I didn't say that science proves what religion teaches to be wrong, just that there is no god as described in all these religions. I am speaking more about the religions that involve chruch and money and a god per se.

Religions are based on faith, and the belief in God. Science is based on facts. When I took high school biology, the teacher warned us that we would hear things that would go against what we were most likely taught since early childhood. He also explained that people were free to believe both science and faith. He was right.

For instance, I believe in evolution. However, I believe that evolution (and things like ice ages, global warming, etc.) are all part of God's plan for the earth.

You don't need to believe that, but I'm trying to point out that many people can and do.

Scientology and Mormonism are probably among the worst examples of religion that you could have singled out--along with Jehovah's Witnesses. Check out Lutherans, Episcopalians, Baptists, Methodists, Catholics, the Jewish tradition, the Native American tradition, and so many more.

I'm sorry but science doesn't prove it ALL wrong. There are enough unanswered questions to keep belief in these religions. And be careful what you wish for, simply because alot of our morals and values come from religion. As do our laws as they are religion based. If people stopped having their beliefs the world would be way more chaotic than what it is. I am not a religious person but I do believe that in order for people to function they need to have something to believe in or shall we call it faith?. For example Scientology. Good Luck to you and be strong in your convictions. (Beliefs)

Though I like to think of myself as a Christian, I do not agree nor accept everything that has been taught to me by the church my family goes to. God gave us free will, the will to pick and choose what we feel is right and what we feel is wrong. To me its a matter of what your heart and sometimes your gut, tells you to feel. I also disagree with your comment that science proves everything religion has taught is wrong. There have been may instances of science proving that what the bible teaches is right.

Start Watching the History channel, the science channel, and the Discovery channel. Sometimes they have shows to prove or disprove the science/history of God and the miracles that Jesus performed.
Very compelling in my book.

Science only 'proves' something to people who do not really know. Those who know, know that you cannot really be certain of anything but that you are thinking.
People believe in religions because their practices lead to certain results, much as certain scientific procedures produce certain results.
