To be able to lead people you need to have a big ego. Powerful people like Napoleon, Buda and Jesus had massive egos. Weak minded and irrational people tend to have very small egos, so they are at a disadvantage in life and get exploited and abused.

Having a big ego can get dangerous when you isolate yourself from others, or when you deny a trascendental reality or emotions. To clarify then, extreme materialism, dening emotions, life, love, and some trascendental reality is very dangerous to powerful people.

Operating from ego is a very painful experience in life. Atheist, or not, the freeing of ourselves from our ego.

I sometimes attend meetings where our sign is "check your ego at the door".

When someone hurts your feelings, it is the "ego" that is being hurt. It is the pride that is being hurt. The "ego becomes bruised. So long as we maintain our ego, "it's going to be a very bumpy ride."

An ego can create an atheist so small that he cannot see the giant stone that God is attempting to push out of his way.

The ego is less than half the whole person, yet its simplest expression is the word "I", the pronoun we use to reference self. The Ego in its self does not move, is not a mover and the Judgement can purify it of reality its self, until it has no mind. The Will is positive, the Judgement is negative.

Any human can create an ego so big that it can't be moved; atheism or theism has nothing to do with it. Its a matter whether you allow the selfish or the altruistic part of your being to dominate.

Anybody can cultivate an enormous ego and somehow many people manage to carry this huge weight with them wherever they go.

Ego takes many on manifestations and often the most 'humble' people are actual raging egomaniacs (I'm more humble than you are...)

Take it from me, I'm a megalomaniac and I know all about ego.

I met an atheist once, very hard to understand, he spoke in riddles much like the words of the devil. I believe the journey of life is to be needed. I believe this is why Jesus instructed his apostles that each one of them create a belief system that people will follow that will enrich there lives. As such many religions have been formed and have converted many into Gods Children. Atheist are being converted slowly but surely. Atheist's have no backing in our society they have not proved themselves. There is no right or wrong with them, which is not a structure that can sustain in our society.

In Buddhism, a type of atheism, the goal is the total destruction of the ego, not the enhancement of one ^_^.

Atheists don't believe in egos. That's too close to admitting the GOD might live inside of them. Atheists refer to them as inner children. When you see an Atheist, ask them how their inner child is doing. If they say fine, then ask them "Then Why did you eat it!"

(Fortunately, even Atheists have a sense of humor. I once met an Atheist who said he was going to convert because otherwise he would have no one to damn me with - ouch -)

I can. Indeed, I have. I'm so thoroughly convinced of my own greatness that I can't actually get off my couch and prove it.
