If you own your own building and are operating under a franchise, are you obligated to let them come in your office and look at your books? Or do they have to go on good faith and believe that you are paying your royalties fairly? Michigan Franchise.

Most franchise companies actually require that you send them copies of your books. Most of the time owning a franchise requires that you sign a contract and say that you will pay the required fees. If you do not and they find out about it, you will breach the contract by not paying the proper franchise fees and it could cost you your franchise, as well as the parent company to sue you for the money you owe them.

You have every right to notshow them your books. But then they have the power to cancel your franchise license. So it's mind over matter. If you don't mind, it don't matter.
