why do people only search for ghosts at night?

Well most people believe that the ghost population increases at night, Which is just not true. I also understand the bewiching hours,But the bewitching hours are all about demons(fallen angels) Not ghost... A huge population of ghost are available 24/7...... So many people can not tell the difference between ghost and a spirits....

A very good question to take note of
Ghost are to said to appear at night but no 1 knows exactly why.
I will quote from different religion to try to express.
-->In chinese,ghost only appears at night because they are afraid of the sun and of the mass crowded.They come out at night where there is lesser people.
-->In malay,there are ghosts called things like Toyol and Pontianak.I am shivering with fear even typing this now.
Toyol are called either demon kids who help people get rich or a black oily malay ghost which preys on girls at night.If they are jumping on girls,cant be in the morning.Pontianak are demons which die while giving births.They are woman.They live in banana trees and always seduce man to kill them as vengence.Their face are pretty in 1 side and ugly in another side.
-->In western,there are werewolf and dracula.Werewolf only become true werewolf at the night of the full moon which is at night.Dracula cant get shine by sunlight or they will burn.Like vampires in chinese term too.So with these many assumptions.People started to believe that ghost cant come out in the morning but only at night.And again in chinese term.
Morning is call "Yang",while Night is call "Yin".Yang contains a lot of sunlight and god protection and they cant harm them in the morning.Yin is opposite.At night,all god power are sealed due to no power from the sun and the spirital power are flowing around.
Especially ghosts are said to be white or green.Which makes night ideal to see more clearly with the black as background

A friend of mine (a budist monk) said that the old people believed that if you started talking about someone dead after sunset this ghost would come and sit next to you, so you had to continue talking all the way to sunup or ghost would do something to you.
I think that night reminds us of this primitive fear we had back then when we hid in caves and hungry things like bears and tigers came and attacked us. We used to be food not so long ago. Instinct kicks in and survival in the means of fear fills us. Ghosts lie in the realm of the unknown, unknown things cause us fear (this fear has kept us alive, not wondering if this snake is friendly or not) and well, it is a combination.

Let me ask you this Question...what fun do ghost have in the day?? saying this maybe ghost only come out at night, it is more fun that way, especially if they want to scare a few people. Plus it is harder to see them in the day because the sun is too bright.

because you cant see a white figure in the day and at night people are usually asleep and if ghost came out during the day there wouldn't be the debate about if ghost are real or not. ( for the record they are real. there is a picture of me when i was a little kid and there is a ghost behind me. no lie.)

I've heard its because the spirits only come out at a certain time, I guess the time between 12:00 am and 12:01 am is considered to be the time when all that crazy stuff happens.

in the nite time is the rite time.. ghosts are souls of screwed up people or actually been wronged in this world...they are wandering in the darkness,seeking the light,,they have not crossed over to the other side or into the light (should spend more time on this but)that's why they are easier to find at nite,it's dark,boo,,or me and mischa can lita a candle and snuggle

i really don't know. maybe it's becuase ghosts are a white and invisableish color and u can recognize them better under the dark sky. plus looking for ghosts at night is just more fun! :)

People only search for ghost at night because its creepier that way...and people "hear" things and claim them to be ghostly interacctions. when really its just because no one is up at night and everything is quiet.
