PUT all your emotions to the side think LAW! ok now that you've done that. (i also asked this question earlier but this is a different time so probably different crowd).
A majority of the people on yahooAnswers believe in WOMAN rights, so do I. That a woman should be able to have the same job as a man, same pay as well, etc.
Is it SEXISM that a man can not get a job working the "floor", "stocking the floor", or "cashing people out" at Victoria's Secret's? The only job a man can get at Victoria's Secret's is in the back (not being see by the women) unloading the shippments.
NOW, women fight for equality and I think they should but is Victoria Secret showing equality for men? REMEMBER we are talking about LAW not personal feelings. I ask one more time... IS IT CONSIDERED SEXISM?

DID you know that VC was put together by a man for Plus Size women? It was a store for men to buy their wifes something but it took off to another direction and now it's mainly for women.

if the man were denied the job at equal pay, then yes, that would be a winnable tort case.
There was a guy who sued and won to become a " Hooters Girl"

In the sense of Law and Business, I believe this is sexism. If women fought so hard for their rights, theny they should be willing to take the exact same jobs that men do. Men should also be able to have all or most of the jobs that women are able to pursue. This would mean being sales assistants at Victoria's Secret. However, one must also look even further down the line. For instance, the corporate officers of Victoria's Secret contains more males than females.

Now if this matter were to be looked at by ethics... Then I would say that men, me being one, would and should not be allowed to work at Victoria's Secret as a front end assistant, cashier or manager.

Yes.
If it were the other way around, we'd never hear the end of it! I'm a gal, but I'm so sick and tired of hearing women complain everything is not the same for a woman as it is a man. I'm secure enough in my gender not to feel the need to fight for every last thing to make it all equal. Life is'nt fair sometimes, oh well.

It probably is, but I don't know how comfortable some women would be shopping in the store then. Then that would cut down on profits for the store, so somehow I'm sure that Victorias secret has a case for that.

They are not refusing to hire men, it's just the assignment.
Who shops at Victoria Secret, I bet it's mostly men.
How wierd would they feel talking to another man.
Besides they want some specialized expertise.
Sorry, but the nature of the business over-rules.

It is OK as long as the employer can prove that the gender of the applicant is essential to the job. I think most women would be uncomfortable with a man salesperson, stocker, or at the cash register.

It is an obvious form of sexism.
If a man were to insist ythat he be able to avail himself of the same jobs aswomen, he would likley have to file a human rights lawsuit.
Women want equality, however they want it on thier terms

I say it is. But we have to be pragmatic because most women would be uncomfortable buying under garments from a man.
Nursing has the same problem. Women take care of both men and women, but some women refuse to have a male nurse take care of them. So, again pragmatism must step in.

I think it's fair because they're selling VERY personal things for women. I personally wouldn't be comfortable buying my bras from a man. And plus, all the women at VS can fit you for a bra and take your cup measurement. If a guy tried to do this can you imagine all the sexual harrassment claims?
