Well, I agree that the price of oil is rigged. And, Nancy Pelosi can't do much about it (unless she tries price control legislation) But do you have a source as to where she said that? Did she say she promises to lower gas prices, or did she promise to work to lower gas prices

They cannot control the price of crude nor buil new refineries overnight. The only way they can keep a promise to reduce the price of gas would be to repeal Federal gasoline tax, which happens to be about 24 cents a gallon. Average profit for the oil company? About 9 cents per gallon. Yet I heard a number of Democrats calling for taxing the " obscene " profits of oil companies. Taxes which we would pay in higher prices.

I love how you liberals are blaming Bush for these gas prices, don't you guys get it, the oil Lobbyiets are funding money to both sides Republicans and Liberals and getting rich off it why we pay at the pump. Nancy Pelosi also has no control over what the big oil companies charge for gas. She meant taking Federal taxes off of it. Which they've done. However, if oil companies start charging more for their gas, that tax cut didn't do much good.

Government doesn't control gas prices (except for the taxes it imposes on gas). Free market forces control the price of gas.

Gas prices have dropped in the last couple of weeks.
