As always, the golden rule of fish disease is WATER QUALITY. If swim bladder disease does have an infectious cause, your fish will be better able to resist this infection (and others) if your water quality is good. Regular water changes and water testing are a must.

Pre-soak your flake or pelleted food. This will allow expansion to occur prior to the fish eating it, and will lessen the chance of impaction.

Even better, switch to a gel-based food or other food source, i.e. frozen or live food.

Well, the most important is yr water in yr tank had to be well maintain. Goldfish though are easy to be kept, they're very low resistance to dirty water. Yr water had to be change partial every wk maybe say 1000ml of water depending on how big is yr fish tank. Upon adding in fresh water make sure u add in sufficient aquarium salt.salt will kill most of the germs in fresh water. Do not overfeed yr goldfish, they'll eat whatever quantity u give,so be careful on the feeding.if u're feeding them with sinking pellets than each fish will need only 5 pellets twice a day is enough for them. All the best.

the flamboyant goldfish because of fact of their deformed shape in many cases have greater problems with swim bladder than the long bodied comets do. in case you combine the food in water earlier you feed them which will end the food from floating and make it no longer likely the fish will consume air.

Clean water and a well varied diet works to give healthy disease resistant fish every time, regardless of species.

exactly what magic man said
but if it was ever to happen
peas seem to help it regain its boyancy
and try not to use floating pellets they contain air and then once the fish eats them the air gets to them
