If Froggie on here is a doctor, she sure mispelled some really common words, like ketones, which do NOT cause protein in your urine. ( I have a feeling she is a fibber about her title ) Proteinuria (Protein in your urine and there are three different types of protienuria, yours is overflow, I'm sure) can be caused by many, many things mainly diet. The most common protein in urine is albumin. If you ate alot of protein before your appt, that would explain it.It can be caused by a lack of fluids, fever, etc as well.Do not stress about it at all, your BP shows no precursors to preeclampsia. I'm sure by your next appt it will be normal. I actually worked for an OB and am a legit RN. I don't know who that Froggie chick is but she is no doctor and it is actually illegal for her to present herself as one here online.

Basically, the presence of protein in your urine (proteinuria) gives information about how your kidneys are working during pregnancy. And like every other organ, they are working overtime.
At the next doctors appointment they will establish whether there is still protein present, and whether the amount has increased. Increased protein MAY be an indication that you are developing pre-eclampsia, a potentially serious condition. But it is not a definite.
No need to worry right now. Your doctor will keep an eye on it.
Best of luck!

A number of things can cause protein in your urine or Keytones (medical term). Some women produce protein naturally during pregnancy. Some of the possible causes could be stress, not eatting properly, not eatting enough.
When I was pregnant with both of my children I constantly had protein in my urine. With my first pregnancy I ended up with Pre-eclampsia and with my second, nothing but still with both, protein.
Some advice, try eatting 20 minutes to an hour before you go to the doctor from now on. This is more than likely take care of the protein. Be sure not to drink soda though because this will cause sugar to show up in your urine which is what the doctor is also testing for.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
Good Luck and Congrats! :)

that I do not know I will tell you that if you start having bad cramps and back pain get to the hospital. I was having bad cramps and back pain and had done a 24 hr urine analysis and before the results could get back my placenta a completely ruptured and the results came back that I had triple the normal protein in my urine. Don't mean to scare you just want you to be prepared and open minded.
