Makes me wonder where the girl who wrote earlier about discrimination in her school lives...

A pair of 14-year-old girls were kicked off the bus, which they were taking to the Sexual Minority Youth Recreation Center in Portland, Oregon, for PDA. The bus driver called them "sickos."

I think this guy should be nailed to the wall, because he's doubtlessly taking other LGBT kids who are too young to drive on this route, and because you don't call a passenger "sicko" for kissing.

Also, my wife and I take buses together in NYC quite often, and we've had people get offended, but never got kicked off. I'm grateful now, and a bit disgusted at myself for feeling grateful too. Nobody should have this happen to them.

It's not a school bus. It's a public bus with a center for LGBT kids on its route. It could as easily been adults.

From the local news article - see link below - it sounds like Trimet is taking the right stand on this and trying to identify the driver and made the statment " it is against TriMet’s policy to kick minors and “vulnerable” people off the bus."

I think there is a line for PDA that is sometimes crossed. There are things that I don't want to see in public between a man and a woman, 2 women or 2 men. In this case though, the use of the word "sicko" implies that the bus driver felt their orientation was offensive, not simply their act. If this bus is for LGBT kids, perhaps this is not the best bus driver for the job. I mean, the kids aren't going to change their orientation, and the route isn't going to change, so the bus driver can either accept this as part of his/her job or move on to where they are more comfortable.

I'm not too fond of public displays of affection. They kind of gross me out a little whoever it happens to involve. I could understand the bus driver or passengers having a problem with that and asking them to stop, but immediately kicking them out for being sickos is just wrong.

On the surface, it seems kinda wack, but I really don't have the info. The sicko comment strikes me as wrong in either case, and suggests a bias against the girls, but that doesn't mean the girls were completely blameless. I really don't know. I wasn't there. But it sucks, regardless.

The sicko here is the bus driver. How can you treat children in a manner that surpasses rudeness like that? He should be fired!

Thats horrible, you shouldnt kick 14 year old off a bus anyway! they are minors, and just because they were kissing. I seen this couple making out a while ago on a bus, and it was NASTY. and no one said a word@!

I think the ACLU could get involved easily.

Theres nothing wrong with whatever sexuality a person chooses, but on a school bus no one should really be 'getting it on' anyway.

Who care what a person does behind closed door, straight or gay, but in public I dont think it is appropriate for anyone to be displaying sexual acts.
