I'm asking Y!A users for their opinions on several groups of cities that I'm considering relocating my family to. So far I've gotten great suggestions on a wide variety of cities.

Which of the following cities: Cincinnati, Minneapolis, or Birmingham, would make the best fit for my family--my wife and I are in our 20s, four young kids, upwardly mobile, high earners?

We are outdoorsy and into sports. We like hiking and snow sports. We prefer cooler weather and snow although warmer weather is not a deal-breaker.

We want a very kid-friendly city that's a good place to raise a family--good parks, zoos, suburbs, etc.

We are also church-goers and conservative Republicans. It is important to have a mostly conservative environment that is faith and family oriented.

What are your thoughts?

Being from Alabama, I would recommend Birmingham. I warn you- it will be HOT! As in temperature... I love Birmingham, but there is not a lot to do. But you are only a couple hours away from Atlanta which is where I live now.. It has lots to do.

All 3 of the cities are decent cities. I live in Cincinnati, and bisiness has taken me to Minneapolis and Birmingham (my last visit to Birmingham was just a few weeks ago). Birmingham is a very warm city. Based on your requirements, while its a nice place, I think that would rule it out. I dont know how cold you like it, but Cincy has moderate winters, Minneapolis obviously has pretty severe ones. Overall, Cincy is a great place. Its very conservative, which sounds up your creek, and Republican as well (at least outside of the downtown city limites). There are a couple of state parks (Caeser's Creek and Hueston Woods) as well as a state forest not too far away. There's also Brookville lake in the area, and Lake Cumberland isnt too terribly far south if lakes are your thing. Cincy is also something of an "original" city, with a number of things you wont find other places, from our Cincinnati Chili, to the best ice cream in the country (Graeters), to Kings Island, one of the best zoos in the country, the undgerground Freedom Center, etc etc. I could go on about it for a long time- its really a fairly idyllic place to live, depsite what the non-believers from other cities might say (haters :) ).

Here how Cincy would rate on your requirements:

We are outdoorsy and into sports. - plenty of outdoor team sports and other activities.

No real hiking or snow sports. Small ski hill and occasional snow.

Cincy would be cooler than Birmingham but warmer that Minneapolis.

We want a very kid-friendly city that's a good place to raise a family--good parks, zoos, suburbs, etc.- Great place to raise kids.

Really good museum center - http://www.cincymuseum.org
Really good zoo
Great children's medical facilities
Plenty of choice in suburbs to live in and if you go into the northern suburbs(Liberty Township, Mason, West Chester) some of the best schools in Ohio.

We are also church-goers and conservative Republicans. It is important to have a mostly conservative environment that is faith and family oriented:

Cincy is know for its Conservative environment. Heavily Catholic but many strong prodestant and independent churches as well.

So other than your interest in winter type sports I think Cincy would fit you well. You can always drive to West Virgina for skiing or fly out west.

Birmingham is a pretty great town (Chi-town transplant). We were really surprised at what a cool place it is, with plenty of things to do all the time, great restaurants, etc. etc. It's a great town for raising kids. So much so that my wife, who practically had to be forced on the plane to fly down for my interview, never wants to leave. And the cost of living overall is pretty low compared to those other cities, from what I know. And taxes are practically nothing.

But while it's cool, it's definitely not cold in the Summer. We haven't had snow here in six years.

It's pretty conservative here, much more so than Cincinnati or Minneapolis. And seems like almost everybody goes to church here. Lots of Baptists, Methodists, Episcopalians, and Catholics.

Minneapolis is the obvious choice. Beautiful in the fall, high family-values kind of city. Obviously, you have the Twins for Baseball and such. Conservative. Good homes to be had. Cincinnati is a close second, but less in terms of snow sports (although I've been through a few blizzards out there).

Gotta chime in for the Queen City - Cincinnati.

I have 2 kids of my own and think this is a GREAT place to raise them. There is no shortage of parks and the Zoo is nationally recognized.

I say this is the "outer loop of the Bible belt" - not extremely religious, but definitely a lot of church goers. And LOADED with Republicans; very conservative. I moved here from Boston and that is one thing I noticed right away.

West Chester, a northern suburb of Cincy, was recently named in the top 50 places to live for the money by Money magazine.

That's my pitch!

a lot extra cities if we glance outdoors of the U. S. yet interior the U. S., i imagine it is a extraordinarily reliable list (except i do not comprehend if that's honest to count number Dallas-fort fairly worth and Minneapolis-St. Paul as separate cities; kinda like how the Bay is taken into consideration as one section). there are probably some different motives for why those cities don't have stunning artists. some cities fall below the shadow of others. for instance, 2 of the six contributors of the Visionaries are from San Diego inspite of the indisputable fact that the crew is by and tremendous considered as being from la. Dallas-fort fairly worth is the scene that i'm maximum acquainted with. There are some topics that I see there. One, human beings immediately imagine that each and every one Texas rappers are from Houston. 2, followers there are not severe adequate. So numerous cats finally end up wondering that they are extra positive than they are and do not capture on elsewhere. Then the rappers that *are* reliable both get stuck up in that stigma or pass elsewhere to get their attractiveness (like record).
