The Flame Scallop is also called the Red Flame Scallop or Red File Shell Clam.

Scallops are in the family Pectinidae. File clams are in the family Limidae. So a file clam is not really a scallop. However, in the aquarium trade the red file clam, Lima scabra, is sometimes called "flame scallop" even though the name is technically incorrect.
