Unfortunately 3d is not easy to learn, let alone simple to use.
it requires alot of patience and dedication to get good.
Blender (http://www.blender.org/), i would say is the closest to an industry standard software package ( such as 3ds max, maya, light wave, soft image etc.) available for free, with a huge community of support and tutorials.

I suggest checking out the following sites as well.( if your serious about learning how to become a 3d artist).

Blender; $0 or $10/month
http://blender.org
As a hobbyist, freelancer, or small to medium sized studio you can use Blender as a low-cost alternative to Maya ($125/month) and After Effects ($20/month).

Blender is FREE with full functionality and you're allowed to use Blender in any production without having to pay for anything.

What's your goal - often 3d programs are geared for certain things... Modeling? Animation?
