Yes. I met my future partner at the office where I was employed. After 3 years we decided to purchase a house and live together.
My Mother, Father had passed away, gave us her blessing but Gwenneth's family were vile from the start. It is too long a story to relate here but when I was overseas on long service leave, Gwen died. Her family claimed her remains and had them buried in their "church's" private cemetery. When I was able to visit the grave I found it in a corner with a stone reading "UNKNOWN TO GOD".i suffered greatly from this and had it not been for my Brother I am sure I would have taken my life.
May all who suffer be blessed and comforted.

No because I am not gay but I have been a victim of prejudice. My husband was working for a company when we first moved to this small god forsaken town we live in. He told the owners that he was taking a night off in a couple of weeks and the owner said that it was fine. The night before he took off the owner asked him where he was going to which my husband, who is white and Christian and knows nothing about how ignorant people can be, replied that he was going to his mother in laws to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah. The next day he got a call telling him not to come back to work.

You can always spot that kind of thing when someone at another table studies your shoes in a restaurant. I sent it back with a smile by deliberately lifting my pant legs a little bit after I had sat down.

well I suppose yeah even though it hasn't been directed at me yet. But i can feel the homophobic vibe that the guys at work give me. I'm str8 acting so at least they have attempted to apply any sort of assault on me. Maybe it's the way I glare at them, but hey, it's for my own protection.

All the time! I'm a pastor with Metropolitan Community Churches - it seems some people think that I, and those like me, might be responsible for all the ills of the world (Pat Robertson).

This was not directed at me but a guy I work with is very homophobic. He was born in Nigeria and there he says "homos are killed whenever they're discovered". He says Americans are too lenient!

We tease him about going to an Elton John concert and "being in touch with himself".

Many times - have been mugged and verbally abused! Latest was from my ex-boyfriends new partner - shouting abuse in the street (really odd behaviour as he is also gay - lol - but does not like to admit it!)

Yes. I was fired from two jobs because I'm bi and in love with another woman. I was passed over for others because I mentioned my time at an LGBT paper on my resume. (And I used it to screen out the phobes before I invested myself in the job.) I have had things thrown at me and words screamed at me for being near the "wrong" club or store. I have had to pass demonstrators in order to get to LGBT events, such as Gay Days at Disney. I wasn't able to get married in Ocala National Forest like I'd dreamed of, and instead we had to go to a state we'd never visited to get married. Neighbors have gotten upset because my wife and I gave each other a brief kiss goodbye on our very own porch. A plumber, a cable installer, and a carpet cleaner tried to "straighten" me out for Jesus. (I had pictures of my wife and books that are clearly LGBT out on my shelves where people could see.) And then there's the crap I get from some of my relatives.

seriously, for any of those straight gay-bashing homophobic guys who really think that we would actually want you, then you are sadly mistaken. we may be interested at first, but after we find out that we are barking up the wrong tree, we'll most likely try and find someone else to fill in the space in our hearts. stop flaming your burning egos, because most likely, you're seriously probably NOT WORTH our time in the end.
