I'll help ya for starters the WEP code is NOT THE SAME AS THE IP ADDRESS... you will to search for an access point if you don't have one you will need to do this manually...
BUT... if you do find an access point you will need to look for three things... a blue unlocked lock a red locked lock and a silver locked lock, for the silver lock, you will need to either switch to WEP security, or remove the security setting of your router when connecting with the Nintendo DS. For the red lock you will need to type in the the WEP code wich is the serial number of your router model, the blue lock is free for wifi connection .sounds confusing but it will help ALOT! if you don't have a wireless router you will need to:
1. buy a wireless router
2. get a wi-fi usb cable
I hope that helps

First of all, you need a wireless network if you are going to connect your DS to the internet, or you need an adapter to hook it up to your computer.

I would recommend finding a place with WIFI, and playing there. Once you find a place with a wireless connection, turn your Gameboy on. You will be brought to a menu, just before you begin the game, that asks you to click on "Pokemon Pearl". Before you select the button, there should be a button called "WFC" bellow. Select that button and choose your connection options. When you finish, reboot your DS and you should be able to use GTS and such.

I don't know how to use the usb wifi adapter. I just got a wireless router.
WEP and IP address are way different. Your WEP is your encoded password for your secure wireless network.

once you swap on your ds, click on Pearl. on the main significant menu scroll down. pass to the wifi settings..then click on seek for wifi, if there's a wifi sign interior the section your DS will "see" it... each and every pastime comes with instructions as does your ds...RTFM
