I mean are we doomed to fight againt people who are not like us...it seems counter-productive to the propagation of the human race

Ride it out.
The violent and the aggressive will kill each other off. What will be left is those who are more interested in communicative relationships that involve principles such as respect and dignity.
You can accept the tiger for what it is, or daily try and remove its stripes.

I agree what logic is there is respecting those who do not repect us? What dignity is there to defend others and their cultures when they show contempt for ours??? Perfect example 9-11-01 need I say more!! All I know I was there that day and I am proud to be an American and I fight for my country and my rights to live the way I have always lived!!! Look at the heros from 9-11-01 the Fireman the cops the Emt people the civilians off the streets that helped people live there is great goodness in the human race and love for all people all religions and cultures. Liberty married to equality.. that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights...That among these are life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness .
We must fight to the end to defend our rights!!!

Maybe you're doomed buy I'm not. Only people who are insecure with themselves fight with others, that's the only thing that makes them feel better about themselves.

You'd think so - especially where the reasons we fight and kill each other are just so utterly friggin' stupid. Skin color, sexual orientation, even which version of a book about the same "God" are all just inane, silly reasons to hate.
The sheer stupidity of the human race is astonishing.

Because humans are not all cut from the same genetic cloth. People are individuals and they don't all think or feel alike. Not everybody WANTS to get along.
