No it was the Russian Czarist secret police, the OGPU, which bribed the captain to try and sink an iceberg.
The idea of unsinkable icebergs was covered up by the International Confederation of Eskimos (ICE) which were trying to protect their secret weapon against British Naval invasion.

I do not know why they would do that in 1912, no one was at war then. I don't think they had the technology to move large icebergs back then, so my answer is no

Oh please, that is just rediculous. It would take way too much money and man power just to sink one ship. It's not like it was a military ship, it was a passanger cruise line. What you heard was a stupid rumor from someone who tinks way to hard about things. We should not tarnish the name of Titanic and those who lost their lives that unfortunate day just because of someones outrageous thoughts. It was an unfortunate accident and that is all.
