she told me that "i'm always dressing like i'm black" (im WHITE) and i was wearing jean capris, flip flops, and a white t shirt (ok it was a little big but hey i like to be comfortable)
and then she was like "u dress like...similar to like mexicans" and i was like
FIRST OF ALL
. there is a difference between mexicans and blacks
. thats racist anyways
. i dont dress black...or at least i dont intentionally try to
so my question is...why do ppl think that if u dress a certain way, ur being fake and trying to act a different race?
i might dress kind of ghetto since a lot of my friends are...but its my choice i think i look good...plus its comfortable...but i do dress girly a lot of the time....
but now im really self conscious thanks to her...wat should i do?

Your friend sounds a bit thick, no offense, ignore her, she's probably just jealous cause you can pull of the style.

FIRST OF ALL.....(your capitals)
Is style racist?
It would seem to be so because your objection is based on your friend's talking about a style of clothing that has been widely adopted and worn by certain groups who, one should be safe to assume, wear that style specifically to identify themselves as part of the group.
If it is also your wish to identify yourself with that group, then go ahead and do so.
Enjoy yourself.
It is your choice.

don't give in to the stereotype. just say I dress the way I want to dress has nothing to do with racial background. I'm just dress what looks good on me. who cares what other people wear that is their choice and not dependent on their race.

Your "friend" is obviously biased. Now, just look at how she is influencing your personality. That's not a good thing. Try to make some new friends; people who won't judge you or act as if they are above others.

Just go ahead and wear whatever you like. Your friend sounds a bit "off."
