Unfortunately you don't live in an area where the industry has much if anything happening. Your state is trying to bring more industry players there though. Keep your eye out on the following sites and anything that they're linked to and see if you can find out about productions in your area. You may get info that will help you get in on something :-)

http://www.state.in.us/film/ ***This site periodically lists jobs for actors.

http://www.imindiana.org/

http://www.ifnweb.org/

PS - the singing - that's more for theatre and you're in luck because every place has theatre! Check out backstage.com or http://www.actorsequity.org/castingcall/... If you find the audition on the Equity site, you still may be able to go, as long as their not taking appointments from equity actor's only :-) On backstage.com you have to pay to get all of the info, but the initial search is free and you may be able to see enough info to find out the rest on your own without paying.

Good luck!

There are two great ways for you to do this in Indianapolis:

Go to Helen Wells' agency's open call (http://www.helenwellsagency.com/). She is a very intimidating lady when you first meet her, but in truth she is very efficient and cares a lot about actors. I believe her open calls are still twice/month, but check the website on that. You'll want to go dressed nicely but comfortably (a low heel, nice colors without being too colorful). If you have a professional headshot and resume, bring about 10-20 copies of those.

The second way is to get in touch with Janet or Priscilla at Indiana Repertory Theatre. They are always looking for new talent and they use actors in your age group fairly often for a theatre company. And they pay! In order to get in touch with them, mail them your headshot and resume with a cover letter asking about auditions. Take a look at their season on their website first (search Indiana Repertory Theatre for it) and let them know if any particular roles catch your eye, that you are age-appropriate for.

And remember, keep training/taking classes and auditioning for local theatres (which you should invite Helen, Janet and Priscilla to come see you in).

Break a leg!
