Not too proud, just too intent on getting it finished, and usually it turns out okay. There have been a couple of times, though, when I've completely assembled something only to find out it's not right and have to take it apart, (dig the instructions out of the trash), and start over again. :)

I hate reading instructions. I always try to put whatever it is together, then if that doesn't work - I look for the instructions.
