In bed.
Like, do you drift off or do you get those jerky movements that mean you're close? Or do you just think damn when am I ever going to fall asleep and next thing you know it is morning ?

Tell Bruce.

Well Bruce, the family doctor sent me to see you. I think I will sit on the couch instead of reclining, if you don't mind. Those teeth of yours-well, they look really sharp.......now I'm not feeling as tired as I was when I came in the door. You are a Psychiatrist after all, and that is what brings me here. I am a thinker. Bedtime is when I seem to be thinking the most and my mind starts trying to solve Einsteins type questions. Anyway Dr. Bruce, my mind won't let me rest? Do you have a solution to my problem?

Yes, when I feel really tired and start to drift off into a deep sleep and sometimes if I don't sleep straight away, I just think about something and then before I know it, I am asleep.

Honestly, I wake up going I can't believe I finally fell asleep. I never remember actually falling asleep. Jerky movements are usually a sign of a potassuim-or other important nutrient--deficiency in your body.

Zzzzzzz!
Actually, I do jerk a bit before falling asleep,
but mostly if it's a nap situation.
I take meds. at night that make me very sleepy usually,
so I have no problem drifting off.
Without the meds. is a totally different story,
because I find I am up all night, ack!
I am a dreamer in all situations though, which I like. ;)

I lay there listening to kids breathing over the baby monitors, they're sound asleep. My husband soundly sleeping and I want to scream. Why is everyone asleep but me? Grrr. Then I think I have insomnia, I flop around because I'm hot, my brain says I think I need to pee, and then WHAM it's morning. The pre-sleep stress meltdown means I'm ready to pass out I guess.

When my eyelids get to the point where I can no longer hold them open, I know I am close to going to sleep. By this point I turn off the tv and lay there and think until I finally drift off.

It seems like I'm laying there for hours at a time asking myself, when am I going to go to sleep. Then, I think to myself, am I asleep? The next thing I know my girlfriend is saying get off of me it's time to go to work.

At church I feel like the first one "drift off"
At home I fall asleep as soon as I put my head on the pillow "exept if its a very hot summer night"
