Here's a candidate I'm very open to. As a Minnesotan, I really don't know too much about him, only that he was a Republican Senator from Tennessee and an actor. Reagan fans should be very open to his candidacy, just from that fact. :)

Impress? How? He claims to be a Washington outsider and yet he has worked as a lobbyist for 20 years in Washington. He claims moral high ground and yet he divorces his wife of 25 years to marry one of his many extra marital affairs ( a woman younger than his own daughter). His ideas for Iraq are the same old, warmed over ones of Bush. His ideas for healthcare reform are the idiotic call for a tax free savings account. He'll continue to give the wealthy their undeserved tax cuts. His only real attribute is that he is good at pretending to be other characters. Fred Thompson is NOT impressive in the least. If that is the best the Repubs can do then it will be a humilitating defeat come November.

Do you really think Thompson is going to 'impress the heck out of' anybody?
You are an optimist.
Get used to the idea of having Hillary as President.

He didn't impress people in the Senate, he was a lobbyist for many years and that might come back to haunt him. Especially since he represented some nasty characters.
He was a TV star, but that might not be relevant to anything.
Near as I can tell he didn't do much in Congress,,no Thompson bill or law bears his name, and hasn't since he left. I don't know whats up with him, but he doesn't seem to know either.

I liked him on Law & Order. Haven't heard where he stands on the issues yet, but will check it out. Don't think it matters much as more than likely the Democrat nominee (Hillary or Obama) will win the '08 election. And his name is Obama, but you know that don't you? However, Osama probably is more popular world wide than President Bush at the present time.

No.

I'd just like to see a candidate who won't disappoint the voters. And I'd like to NOT see him until about six months before the election.

Come on! Give America a break!!!
The man looks like a ugly bullfrog...ewww!

And his record has been showing that he's more
inclined to be LAZY than productive....

After the huge disaster of a mess Bush has left...
we need someone to clean up...not sit on its butt
and smoke cigars....

And remember boys & girls...

It ALWAYS takes a Clinton
to clean up after a Bush!

Bulldog Face is Sir Talk a Lot and Accomplish Nothing. Well not that far a stretch for republicans so Yes he is the right choice for the Repugnant Party.

Not sure. I would like to see him in a few more debates and see what he is all about. Right now I like Mitt Romney but I wouldn't be opposed to a Romney/Thompson ticket.

Well.. I honestly think a democrat will win. Not just because I am one, but because we're unsatisfied with Bush, a republican. Patterns show that when we're not satisfied, we switch parties.

Basically, no.
