There are several things that could be causing her to be late. It also depends on how long she has been taking the pill. They take time to be 99% effective, about 3 months. The hormones in the pill could be causing the HPT to come back negative. She should go to see a doctor to make a positive conclusion. Make sure you go with her if she is willing to have you along and to show her that you are supportive of her. If she is pregnant the two of you will have to make several choices together about your future. There are several agencies out there that you can get help from no matter what choice the two of you make.

She could be or may not be pregnant -- it depends on a lot of things. She may be stressed out so her period is late or she may be pregnant but still cannot detect it yet because it's still too early (because it depends when she ovulated) so I suggest to wait another 5 days and then re-test again. If she's pregnant just be grateful you made a life together -- everything happens for a reason even though you both were careful and you may not be ready to have kids. Some people I know later in life when they are ready, babies do just come so naturally or easy so just be grateful is she is. Think of it this way, you both will be a young parent.

It could take up to 2 weeks to show up on a HPT, so you still have a few more days. If it still shows negative by then she probably needs to rule out pregnancy by seeing her GYN doctor and to see if there may be a underlying problem causing her missed period. Also, if she is wanting a baby or thinking she may be pregnant she might be tricking her body into thinking it's pregnant and that will cause her to miss her period. Tell her to ask her GYN about it.

It seems to me by the words that you are using that you are more worried of how a pregnancy will affect your lifestyle and relationship with her. Maybe you should think if you are ready for a child right now, there are plenty of women out there, that may want kids but will never forget to take the pill because they realize the responsibility of having a child right now.
Just be sure to stay away from any women who never want kids, you'll be in for an emotional roller coaster.
Make it a good day!
Good Luck

She is probably not pregnant. If she was, the pregnancy test would probably be positive by now. Most pregnancy tests give accurate results 7-10 days after you miss your period. If she is still not sure, she can go to her OB/GYN, health clinic, or planned parenthood/pregnancy centers and get tested again. Doctors can do a blood test, which is more accurate than a stick test.

I'm not sure if worried is what you should be,it depends on the ramifications it would have on your life.Yes she still could be pregnant, she should go see her doctor to make sure everything is alright.I know your 19 and it seems to be a frightening scenario,I was 19 when I fathered my 1st of 3 children.I wouldn't change any thing about that time of my life for as difficult it can be, the reward of my children is worth it all.I know it is an overwhelming situation, but it is surprisingly easy once the baby is born, good luck.

There are several reasons to why a girl would have missed her period and it is not always because she is pregnant. Here are several possibilities but bottom line she should visit a gy doctor to relieve all stress and worries from just assumption.
1- Eating habits
2- Stress
3- Being on birth control can cause irregularity in a girls menstrual cycle.

Uh oh! Again I'll say it! Uh oh! you guys are in sreious trouble. When a girl is pregnant she misses her period completely, but when she is not pregant it shouldn't be late more than a week, a week and a half tops. This girl by the sounds of it, is pregnant or she is getting one of the worst side effects of birth control pills. Late periods. They are both nerveracking, and confusing. Be careful. women only have that far away periods when they have their first period. You guys are either being cruelly tormented by birht control pills, or your going to be a dad.

Well, if you guys aren't ready to have a baby yet, might I suggest some other form of protection other than birth control?
Yes, its possible to have a false negative, but it also could be from her skipping her BC pills. In order to find out definitively, she needs to go the doctor and have a blood test.

in case you 2 at the instant are not waiting to have a new child then possibly you're able to desire to have considered a 2nd style of beginning administration.. like a condom because of the fact the pill isn't a hundred% HPT at the instant are not precise and that i could bypass to the scientific expert to get a blood attempt. notwithstanding if she has been sick or under pressure they could reason her to omit her era. bypass to the scientific expert first and rule out that risk.. guy.. next time placed on a rubber
