Can a company sue you if you put their name on a blog? Does it make any difference if you put a registered sign ® next to it?

Can they sue? Just about anybody can sue anyone for anything, it seems. Can they win? Depends on what you write and what law they claim you violated. Just naming a company doesn't violate any laws.

A company can...if they think you damaged their GOOD name.
Most blogs are not that well seen...kind of one note samba...or too preachy..to catch on...
Companies also know that the registered sign ® is not on MOST keyboards and are not surprised if it is not next to it.

Since YOU have a registered sign ®, you can perform, CYA...easily...

There are special laws dealing with slander and libel. You would need to worry about libel. If you said something derogatory, or licentious, etc., you would be at risk.
Just using the name would most likely be alright.
If in doubt, consult an attorney.

It depends if it is copy righted and trademarked. You would have to put a link to their site. They shouldn't be able to sue you.
