Differences between WWI and WWII? They were both wars of political ideology, but WWII was also a war of social ideology i.e. the Holocaust. Also, the weapons were different - WWII introduced "modern warfare" including the nucelar bomb.

Not sure the origin of the quote, but I've heard it said that "WWI was fought in the trenches and WWII was fought in the air".
