Yes I was walking through the woods one time and passed a stump that was about eye level and there was a little short one about 10 inches tall sitting very still , I was close enough to have reached out and touched it though I didn't try .
I haven't heard about the wives tale involving an owl . I have heard if a bird gets in your house someone will die , unfortunately I've witnessed that one coming true on several occasions but I try to remain skeptical and it's difficult to do that now .

I've seen owls in the wild, and I see one everyday where I work. I've never heard that old story. If you are out in the woods often you will hear owls alot. And you will know no one I guess.

I have seen them in the wild, and I had one in my kitchen once. I try to avoid old wives tales.

Yes. I live in the country so I see them every now and then. They are the coolest birds ever. They are a little freaky to look at. No one died soooo I don't guess that's true. Who comes up with this stuff? Sounds like something my grandma would say. LOL
