I'm sorry, I'm sure that person is trying to be helpful but agents aren't in the phone book and if they are, they may not be legitimate.
If you want to find a legitimate agent to represent you for commercials, TV & film go to Sag.org. Use the dropdown menu on the right labeled 'resources' and choose 'agent information'. On the next screen, on the left choose 'Find a SAG franchised agent' and follow the directions. You can look up agents all over the US, but there are higher concentrations where the work is (Los Angeles, NY, IL, FL, GA etc.) You didn't say where you're located, but Disney auditions mostly in Los Angeles and FL, I believe.
Then you can send the agents your headshot, resume, and a cover letter stating that you are seeking representation and wait to see if they call you in for an interview.
Once you have an agent, they will get you the auditions, but until then you can check out actorsaccess.com. You can also see if your state has a film alliance. Sometimes they post audition information for projects filming locally. For theatre, you can go to backstage.com or http://www.actorsequity.org/castingcall/... If you find the audition on the Equity site, you still may be able to go, as long as their not taking appointments from equity actor's only :-) On backstage.com you have to pay to get all of the info, but the initial search is free and you may be able to see enough info to find out the rest on your own without paying.
You also need to work on yourself. You can't just think that it will happen for you because you want it to and the other answerer was right about Disney not likely to be your first job. Dosney kids are awesome. They're triple threat kids who sing, dance and act and they do them all very well.
You need classes. You need to get involved in acting as soon as possible (classes, theatre, whatever you can!). You also need to have your parents full support, because it's a tough business. You're likely to get turned down left and right and you need a supportive place to land, you know what I mean?
Good luck!

Unless you live in a large city, it will be hard to find real talent agents. Wait until you are 18 years old before you try to find an Agent.
NEVER look in the Telephone Book for an Agent.
You will only find scams. Legitimate Talent Agents do NOT advertise.
To get an agent, even as a child, you need acting roles in television and theater.
Perform and book acting roles, as often as you can. so you can build your résumé.
Actors on the Disney Channel have been performing since they were young and grew up on television.
Britney Spears was on the Mickey Mouse Club.
As a child, Raven Simone was on the Cosby Show.
Miley Cyrus has a father who is a famous singer.
Unless you have family in the industry, it's going to be very, very difficult to get a break in show business.
Take acting classes and audition for all of the plays at your school. Start thinking of another career that you will enjoy.

Check out the local talent competitions in your area for people in your age group. It's entirely possible that agents come to those shows. Make sure you're ready to sing several songs and learn several speeches to show your acting ability. Look on Dr. Phil's website. A few weeks ago, he had several young people on his show who wanted to break into the business. They have a lot of really helpful information if you think this is what you want to do. See you on TV !

Well, of path. Just be sufferer. Assuming it is a utterly official agent and you could have performed a history examine on them and you could have visible his/her purchasers record and understand that he has located books with one of the crucial massive publishing residences. Usually, an agent will ship you a record of instructed alterations. Be sufferer, seeing that his different purchasers come earlier than you and he might be busy - if he is a official agent. You can ship him an e-mail and allow him understand that you just wish to grasp time expectancies so you do not force your self loopy ready at your e-mail all day for his instructed alterations, and in addition seeing that you do not wish to nag him each 2 mins. I've heard from a few released writers that it took them a couple of weeks to get a record of instructed alterations from their sellers. So that is ordinary and also you''ll simply ought to hurry up and wait. It's ordinary that he may not deliver you distinctive main points on the assembly. He'll write up a letter or e-mail with all of the instructed alterations and ship it to you, and this might take greater than every week, regardless that for all we all know, he might have talked with you 3 days in the past and you are simply being unreasonably impatient. Now, you probably did receive his present of illustration, proper? Just making definite, seeing that there are plenty of scammers available in the market that appear official if you do not' entirely examine them out. You did signal an company contract OR he made it transparent that he wishes to rep you AND you agreed? - there are nonetheless a couple of official company that do not paintings with a agreement. I'm simply asking seeing that you are making it appear like he met with you, did not present to symbolize you, however as an alternative mentioned he'd ship your manuscript off, more commonly to "experiment the waters," earlier than signing you. This is a signal of a rip-off and there is a very famous scammer who does this. But, I'm definite you are a equipped creator who has performed her homework. Congrats at the presents of illustration. I'm jealous. :D wish to alternate me locations? You could have all my badly written manuscripts. Hahah.

First, you need your parents or guardians to be your representative for you with the agent.
Search on Yahoo.
