I think the draft is unlikely at this point, because it would be political suicide for Bush and anyone else who voted. Besides, the draft would make the war a total failure, because one of the main goals (now that all the others are discredited) is to create an Iraqi security force that will replace American troops.

The President cannot istitute a draft, except by leaving a window open. Only Congress can impose the draft. Why did you waste 5 points asking a question like this? You should have been taught the answer in junior high.

Not me, the military doesn't want it! We had it in Nam and look what happened. Would you rather be in a defense or offensive position and have to reply on someone that voluunteered to be there or one that was drafted. Keep in mind your butt is not the only one hanging out there with this draftee!

Chances are very slim that it will happen.....besides, the decisions are all being made by Cheney, and he has no interest in ending the war.....it's too good for business!
