Azadegan, don't Wiki it their reference is outdated. It's an oil field just off Iran's shore in the Gulf.
Oil companies that may protest CONACO, National Iranian South Oil co and PEDCO?
Oil in Iraq is a trigger not a point of attack. It's because of past administrations American companies were banned from investing in the area Due to Clinton Executive orders.
Now you have Russia and China, Japan was and has pulled somewhat out... ALL involved. The United States can not take over Iraq land or even close get to her oil without a world war. Surely you do not believe this is the focus of Cheney Bush?
I am open to constructive info, no bashing please. Just good exchange of ideas here. Maybe we all learn something. Thank you very much.
*Note: Our Democratic Congress seems more interested in a witch hunt against AG Gonzales & Bush than this war. To me that means they expect a future in the Clinton Presidential Cabinet and nothing about what is on the minds of voters now, today. Weigh in

not about their oil..if we wanted to we could take all middle east oil....it's about what's in between iraq and afghanistan...the monster created by jimmy carter...iran! when it was clear that sadamn could no longer keep iran "in check", and he allowed terrorists to train in iraq as well as finance them internationally, it was time to get rid of him. iran has been the focus all along. honestly i hope the real persians stand up and take back their country from the religious whack jobs before a nuclear war breaks out with millions dead on both sides of the conflict.
yes it is a witch hunt against Gonzalez..clinton and janet sterno fired 93 us prosecutors in one day! liberals never like to talk about that...but some reason they're really hyped on these half dozen or so lefties fired by the bushies....wow....important stuff compared to nukes held by terrorists on american soil etc....wag the dog as usual with those bozos.

My friend...it is so obvious that the U.S. is chasing full ownership of the Iraqi oil fields. Why do you think Dick Cheney had to lie about everything. I'll tell you straight that I am an Arab. But I am a Christian Arab and I am not Iraqi, although I have a great depth of knowledge about the Middle East and its history's affairs. It isn't George Bush's fault that we are in this war. People like Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton were rooting for the plan to go into Iraq and try and take the oil fields. But they had know clue it would cause all this conflict and the deaths of more than 3, 500 American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives. I bet you that all the officials that brought up the idea to attack Iraq wish that they never thought of it. No one is benefiting from this. Even the enemies of the U.S. are not benefiting from this. It's no secret that the U.S. wants oil. They are going to need more oil supply in order to stay a world power. I'm afraid that decades are nearing and maybe before we die, the U.S. will not continue it's dominance in technology and ideas.

You have not been paying attention. The oil agreements that Bush is pushing the Iraqi government so hard for will give US and Bristish oil companies 70% of the Iraq oil revenues for the next 30 years. Was this the goal from the very start? It seems pretty obvious it was.

We're in Iraq because the people of Iraq, it's government, and military are not yet capable of being self sustaining. We're there becuase there are people in Iraq, extremist, who are hell-bent on dominionship, and having power, and will keep killing and harming innocent people - Iraqis, and Americans - until they have the power they thirst for.

NO, it has ALWAYS been about their greed! They are not going to waste thousands of lives for humanity, thye risk it for profit! Effed up president starting a effed up war over oil in the first place!
