Just a question I thought of, My bro-in law asked me if I wanted to go to a shooting range with him, so I wondered if anyone actually had a chance to use a gun if their not a cop or a gang banger.

Me- once in NYC, I went to a quick store to get directions, when I first moved into NYC, came out and heard a loud pop, I wasn't in it but I saw it. No one got hurt but it was still kinda sterotypical of NY.

Amen about Philly! Getting to the point where the city of Brotherly Love is more the City of "look at me and I'll pop your ***".

I have never been near a shooting as in someone shooting someone or a cop shooting someone --- guess I just don't hang out in those cool places.

I am a recreational shooter, and an excellent shot. I have taken my gun out at home in defense once -- didn't take long for the guy to decide not to continue breaking in when he realized I had a gun and 200lb Dog inside the window. He was promptly caught, arrested, and sentenced for attempted burglary, AND he had three assault warrants on him as well.

Three times.

Once, some punk kids tried to rob my neighbor upstairs (apartments) and they shot as they took off. Newly arrived guests of the neighbors shot back.

Another neighbor got shot by a friend of his in the leg.

A man across the alley from me was shot multiple times through the door and killed.

Each time, I grabbed my gun for safety. I've never had to use it. Go to the shooting range! It's good practice and pretty fun, too. =)

One time I was visiting the brother in-law and sister in-law, and there was a shot across the street during a break-in. Not sure what the crook fired off the shot for since no one was home.

Ya. we were out on the front porch in Santa Rosa, and there was a drive-by, and one of the bullits hit right next to me. And I had to ditch a couple of bullits from an ex boyfriend. Also Santa Rosa.

I once was standing right next to a cop that almost shot his best friend with an 'unloaded' gun.
