There are millions of universes and different planetary regions. Each universe has a planet earth. Or in other words there are parallel universes existing at any given point in time. Life exists only on planet earth. Our technology cannot go that far as of now. This is correct. The universe is infinitely big. If you want more details email at pravrttim00@yahoo.com

No the universe has a finite size but is infinite in spacial extent. Meaning its very similar to the surface of a sphere. A sphere has a finite size but you can walk and infinite distance on its surface without falling off. Just like the sphere the universe has no boundaries but is still finite in size. The observable Universe is about 13.5 billion light years across. parellel universes in the context above are only a theory and an untestable one at that.

Anything outside the Universe is outside the realm of space and time. Asking where the universe is placed beyond the scope of physics.

Since I am very interested in Astronomy, I won't bore you with silly phrases or religious nonsense. The Universe is everything out there, all around you, as far as it goes.

There is no current measurement of the Universe. What there is has been called the "seeable" distance. That is, with our present level of sophisticated optical and radio telescope equipment we can "see" out to a distance of 40 Billion Light Years in every possible direction. Beyond that distance our equipment fails to give us any useable information. So the limitation is with our equipment, not some wall or edge of the Universe, as some people like to think about because of their past experience and educational background on Earth. Outer Space is much, much larger than most ordinary people can visualize or even consider.

There is no beginning, or end to the Universe.

We are on Earth, in the Sun's Solar System, which is within the Milky Way Galaxy. That Galaxy has a disklike shape that is 100,000 Light Years wide and several Light Years thick.
It contains over 200 Billion Stars, one of which is our Sun.

Beyond our Galaxy there are thousands and thousands of other galaxies. Each one of them contains billions more stars. And, all of the galaxies seem to be moving away from each other at a fairly rapid rate of speed.

Further, each of those stars mentioned above could have its own solar system of orbiting planets with their own various moons.

So, with all of that in mind, possibly now you can understand why I said that the Universe is realy immense. The very thought of that kind of size and some of the numbers involved makes some people just go stupid with their thinking and uneducated comments. Please take the time to study this more as your time permits. It is truly interesting and can be something wonderful to learn about.

Brook gave you an answer from a science fiction book he read somewhere and has no technical basis for what he told you in his answer.

This is the only universe we can see. It seems to be expanding (objects moving away from each other (Hubble constant)). Astronomers claim they have observed light from the farthest object (a galaxy some 13 billion light years away). We are then seeing what happened to that galaxy 13 billion years ago. Astronomers do not think we have the technology to see the edge of the universe at this point in time. Especially if it keeps expanding.

Universe is vast, so big.
universe is just part of the whole cosmos
Imagine a 1 cm dirt place is a basin of water
stir it slowly
these particles moving around the basin is the universe
one of these particle is our sun
one revolution of our sun is million of years
your dye of dirt is expanding isn't it?

I can not say when it begin. Geology book says it is 6 billion yr

man history can not say about this
Paleontology say the time is even smaller, base from
. . . . a) salinity of the sea
. . . . b) carbon dating of the rocks and meteors
. . . . c) radio active decay
. . . . . d) light from the quazar

well my friend its very hard to determine where the universe is placed because we dont know anything bigger than the universe itself and we place the objects ( galaxies , solar systems , planets , stars etc........... ) according to the universe so u cant determine where is universe is placed .

As to the next part of the question , we are extremly small that even the " small " word is too big for us in the universe , we are nothing and to help u get what i meen click this link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p86BPM1GV8M , this is Carl Sagan's pale blue dot .

The universe is bigger than huge and extremly bigger than extremly bigger than extremly bigger ............... than bigger and its constantly getting larger and larger . some while ago Edwin Huble discovered that the universe is expanding and the more it expands the faster it gets .
