Eat only the foods in the pregancy aisle in your local grocery. LOL.
Just stay away from processed foods, caffeine, and sugars for the most part. You will find that your appetite will vary from day to day and month to month. Just make sure you're taking your prenatal, and getting lots of COLOR and VARIETY in your foods.
It also helps to not drink with your meal if you want to avoid heartburn. 30 minutes before and 1 hour after is the golden rule.

Your family and friends are right about lots of fresh fruits and veggies and lean meat. The healthier you eat the healthier your baby will be. Make sure to take your prenatal vitamins too. Your body needs help to provide all the nutrients your baby needs to grow. How far along are you? Is this your first child? If this is your first experience, try this book called "What To Expect When You're Expecting". I thoroughly enjoyed it with my first pregnancy and re-read it when I was expecting my second child. If there is anything you can do to help your baby develop strong and healthy....eat healthy. Don't forget a little light exercise is good too. Of course you should also take care of all those cravings for that sweet tooth or salty cravings. Just don't over do it. I do hope that you don't smoke or drink during this time or anything else that could cause harm. I wish you luck!

The key to healthy pregnancy is to eat everything in balance. Of course, there are some nutrients that have to be more than the others since you are bearing another human being inside you. It's just important for you to talk this over with your doctor and find out the foods that are healthier for you and your baby.
When I was pregnant, I did ate a lot of fruits and veggies especially fruits high in vitamins like strawberries, apples and grapes. Veggies that I munched on (during snacks or in-between meals) were broccolie, celery and carrots.
Also, you should be taking folic acid tablets at this time since there is a high need for this one during pregnancy.

Just eat a balance from the different food groups. Fruits and veggies are great. Meat is great. But you need to put the grain and dairl food groups into the picture as well. What I do is just make a concious effort to eat a couple items from every food group every day. And it's definatly making me healthy! Take prenatal vitamins with folic acid and then eat balanced and healthy.

It is better to eat healthy, but you can have the things you love too, like ice cream or chocolate from time to time, I eat a lot of fruits, veggies and protein, no ones perfect so don't be upset if you stray from those things, I couldn't eat meat for about 4 months after I was pregnant bc it made me so sick, so I ate peanut butter in the place of it, you'll also want to maybe try foods rich in fiber and folic acid like cereal thats definitely good for you too!

Eat what ever you want... Yes you want to get your fruits and veggies and meat is a good source of protein. But also don't forget to get dairy like yogurt and cheese. Be careful of soft cheeses like queso, blue and brie. Those are not pasteurized and can contain Bactria. Also fish is a good source of omega 3. But you can only eat certain types. Things like shark and sword fish contain a lot of Mercury.Heres a link about the fish. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pregnancy-and-fish/PR00158
Drink lots of water too. Especially with it being summer you can get dehydrated very easily. Also don't forget being pregnant you get to indulge a little. So if you want a cookie or some ice cream then go ahead and eat a little bit.

When you are pregnant you need a well balance diet just like when you are not pregnant, some of the portion sizes will increase, but the basics are the same. Look on the net for some examples. Also your doctor can help. Even Weightwatchers has a pregnancy program, it is designed to maintain healthy body weight while pregnant. And take a multivitamin too. by the way I don't work for weightwatchers, I just know they have this.

Eat lots of whole foods, foods that come in it's original form, not packaged or processed foods. Eat lots of veggies especially dark leafy greens! Fruits, whole grains, eat organic if you can. Lots of water, bypass all the soda. Try not to eat too much sugar as that weakens your immune system.

To have a healthy baby, eat organic. It has no preservatives, and no harmful chemicals or pestacides that gather on GM or regular fruit, meat and veggies. It is the best way to go, remember, your baby's food is YOUR food. What you eat goes straight down to her. Her brain and limbs will grow stronger as yours do!
BTW= CONGRATULATIONS!!

Just eat a diet of healthy foods, and get lots of variety.
Fruits
Veggies
Whole grains
Protein
Dairy
Stay away from foods high in salt. Some is okay if you have a craving, but be careful; as your pregnancy goes on you may develop high blood-pressure (bad for you and baby).
Drink lots of water.
Take your vitamins.
Good Luck and God Bless!!!
