Simply put i reckon 95% plus know he ain't dead, yet the coverage on wwe.com, the tribute paid in ecw and what will undoubtedly come during smackdown and raw next week. What happens if/when he comes back to tv whenever that may be or if someone snaps him out and about? who can ever take wwe seriously again if a wrestler is seriously injured or just a story. What does this coverage do for the wrestlers that have died - owen hart, eddie g?

My husband turned me on to the WWE, and at first I hated it- and then I got caught up in the storylines, the good guys vs. bad guys crap and have been watching it ever since. Most of the stunts have been dumb, but passable. This one is totally ridiculous and it insults so many people. We live in a world with suicide bombers and murderers- where it REALLY happens to good, unsuspecting people...and Vince thinks this is joke? I'm disgusted by it and to who ever posted this question, thank you. :) So many people are just passing it off as a joke, but I don't find it funny at all. So Vince wants a vacation- so what? Good riddance! He could have faked anything but this....hell he didn't have to fake it- all he had to do was disappear. We'd still be "buzzing" about "where did he go?" but at least he would have kept his dignity and what very little respect we had left for him. Too many people actually do die in this business, whether from accidents or drugs for someone to be making "fun."

I don't watch any of that because the whole thing is just too fake for me. It is one thing to watch people wrestle.. but to watch them pretend to do it.. and then pretend outside the shows that it was all real too.. is just dumb...
BUT.. as far as that storyline goes, yah.. It sounds really like a stupid thing to do. I don't think that they should things like that without at least having some sort of disclaimer that it is only the "persona" of Mcmahon on the show.. and not the REAL person that is supposed to be dead, etc. I think that is where the problem lies.. The characters in the WWE are created to appear as if they are real people, where in a soap opera or drama or comedy show, etc.. they are created as a character only and people see the difference.. (if that makes sense? :) heh)
Anyway.. Yah.. I also do believe that it would have an effect on whether people would believe if something REALLY happened to someone, etc..

Vinnie has an ego that only cares about himself - not the talent - getting over & will use real tragic deaths for ratings.
He has fought in court every lawsuit by wrestlers who have been crippled in the ring, fought unsuccessfully the Ventura lawsuit for the talent to receive royalties for the use of their characters/names in merchandising, and very quietly settled the Owen Hart wrongful death lawsuit (a lawsuit that even Vinnie obviously knew he would lose in court).
Vinnie will continue on this path he has paved until stockholders get fed up and demand changes in the corporate structure and daily operations of the company.

I do not believe the man is gone; I do think his limousine driver is dead; but not him. I think that McMahon just got overtired and decided to step down and get out of the public eye. He just could not stand what his wrestlers were doing and saying about him; so, the only other way that he could do that without being embarrassed and all, is to stage his own death. I also believe that he is the one that planted the bomb in that limousine just to make it look like he was the innocent party.

To the person who said the WWE changed their name from WWF To WWE because of storyline entertainment..you are so wrong. They lost a lawsuit for the rights to the WWF name. Maybe if you pulled your head out of your @ss, you'd know that.
Yes this storyline has gone too far. Vince is not dead. You can clearly see the scenes being spliced together. Prowrestling.com has info on this.

I don't think it is approppriate but the WWE has never been known for being sensitive to peoples feelings. The Mr. McMahon character appears to written out of the storylines for good

People who are worth anything know that Eddie and Owen are really dead, screw everyone else. Why don't you go tell the Sopranos producers that they're sick and have gone too far? Grow up, dude, and everyone else else wo answered this question.

You've never heard of the Katie Vick incident?
The WWE hasn't had any morals of any kind ever since the attitude era.
This stunt is actaully pretty tame compared to some of the crazy, stupid sh*t they have done i nthe past.

i think of faking his dying is going way too a ways. the sorrowful section is that this could in all probability make people watch WWE much extra. particularly the extra youthful youngsters. They already have faith that crap is actual.
