My BF is thinking about dumping his hard- lined connection at home and switching to Verizon wireless plan... great for him but not so great for me. We had a network setup with wireless router so I couldaccess the internet through my own laptop, now it seems as if I won''t be able to? Will the Verizon card talk with the router to allow me to share that connection or am I SOL? Thanks!

There is a router that will let you share your 3G wireless connection from Verizon or many other cell companies. You would take the 3G card and plug it into the router to share the connection just like you do now with DSL or Cable internet.

The cellular internet services (Verizon, Sprint, ATT) require a specific card that goes into the pc. They do not work with a router or with Internet Connection Sharing. This means that you will be Simply Out Of Luck (or something like that) if you do this.

You may be able to use it be the computer connected directly to the internet will need a second card so that it can be set up as a router. This does mean that if it works it will have to be on all the time that you want to use the internet.
