I think there are quite a few artists that died of syphilis. Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec to name one.

Yeah, definitely have to agree with the others, too many to name. Oscar Wilde was another. Promiscuity was an important part of being an artist. If you didn't die from TB you died from syphilis.
