Been with my hubby 22 years, married 17.It's not been plain sailing, we have worked hard to keep life sweet.
I've miscarried our 1st baby, second child had life saving op.I've had breast cancer and depression.
Sometimes we have to endure hard times to appreciate what we have.

Congrats!!
I've never been married.
My parents have been married for 36 years now, together for 37.
I think the secret is similar values & goals, true friendship, mutual understanding, trust and the desire to compromise & work things out. First love fades, things go bumpy once in a while. The question is what you do when something goes wrong. If both want and love kids, they can truly cement a relationship.

We've been together for 16 years and married for 2. Our secret is that we don't take any notice of what the other does to annoy us, but sit down and discuss our relationship and the good and bad points every six months.

been married 12 years together 14, we think of the other person and are not selfish, we laugh, don't bottle things up, once in a while even have a good argument that lasts for about 5 minutes and always say i love you before we go to sleep. xx

28 years. Knew each other for 2 weeks before we got engaged and married 3 months later..........the secret is lots of laughter and consideration, remembering the important little things like never leaving the house without a kiss bye or saying I love you frequently, calling them up just to say hello, buying them their favourite choccies for no reason......always listening to their bad day even when you are busting a gut to tell them about yours.......never ever ever taking an argument to bed with you...that is the 'safe' zone and has no place of cold shoulders or tears!! Take time to spend time together doing the most boring or the most fun stuff......remember why you found them attractive in the first place.....Don't argue.......discuss!!!

I was married 9-1/2 yrs (we split at 7). I blinded myself to all the red flags. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did, but I was young and dumb (19) when we married.

One method (no secret) to a long successful relationship is good communication.

Been with him 5 years, been married 2.

Our secret? Always communicate. Marriage shouldn't be based on love, it should be based on a strong relationship.
