Ok I don't claim to know more about the female body than someone who lives in one. But! I do claim to have had regular intercourse with a lot more women than women.
From my experience, it's mostly a mental thing. Relaxation is key. It's the opposite effect for guys. If a guy isn't relaxed he'll blow too early. If a woman isn't relaxed, she'll never get there. Just relax and enjoy the feeling rather than aiming for something. Don't just lay there, either. Get into it and do something interesting.
There are more mental blocks than lack of relaxation, too. One other example: If you believe you can't climax from normal penetration then you probably wont be able to.

Guy's experience:
Some climax much more easily from (clit)oral stimulation. Others don't like oral but can have vaginal orgasms. Some enjoy both.
Sometimes it seems more psychological than physiological, other times the opposite.
