I'm planning a trip for my family to Walt Disney World Orlando in October. I have never been to the Animal Kingdom. I'm looking to see what your one favorite ride or attraction at the Animal Kingdom.

If you are wanting something that is more of a ride, Expedition Everest is the best, in my opinion. Loved it since I rode it the first time.
But, if you want something that is a little longer and more unique, then I would go for Kilimanjaro Safari. It is a really great ride, you get to see animals and it is pretty different from other type rides.
All the rides at Animal Kingdom are pretty great. Kali River Rapids and Dinosaur are two of my other favorites.

Animal Kingdom rides...my favorites are Kilimanjaro Safari Ride (get on it early in the morning or last thing before park closes- temperature is not so hot so the animals are more active!!), Kali River Rapids (have one person stay behind to stand on the bridge and take photos as your raft passes), and Expedition Everest.
I also would NOT miss the Festival of the Lion King Show, and also the new Finding Nemo show. These are both fantastic!!
As I try to tell everyone that visits Disney World- take your time. If you are on your way to a particular ride, you might come across some type of entertainment on the street. Stop and enjoy these, too!! Explore things that you see as you come across them. Don't judge a ride, or show, or an area because it seems silly, or boring, or "not your cup of tea". You might come away having had the time of your life. Remember, different things appeal to different people!! I remember going with my sister (we are both old married people) and we were heading for a ride and the line was soooo long. I said "ooh, look, let's go on that there isn't a line" ...(it was August, hot , humid...I just wanted to sit down) She said "you don't want to go on that it is stupid" We went anyway. Her and her husband were in the seats behind us. They laughed soo hard I thought they would pass out!!
They had never gone on it because it "looked stupid". You just never know until you see something for yourself.
By the way the ride was Mr. Toad's Wild Ride in the Magic Kingdom and it no longer exists....:-(

If she gets bored easily, don't do Disney. Islands of Adventure at Universal is probably my first pick. It has rollercoasters, water rides and yes, Harry Potter. October is the best time to go because it won't be as crowded so good choice on that :) I would say try to avoid Universal Studios because it is an older theme park with older attractions. Not many rides. They just built a new coaster that I haven't had a chance to ride yet, but that would be my only reason for going. I say take her to Sea World. That is fun for all ages. There are 2 rollercoasters, a water ride and the shows are great.

Expedition Everest. Get there early, get a fastpass first then ride the ride using the regular standby line. Later come back and ride again using the fastpass. Ask an employee how to get a fastpass if you can't figure it out. Also, bring cheap dollar store rain ponchos and ride Kali River Rapids. Since the ponchos were less than a dollar each, "gift" them to other people getting in line when you are done with them or just toss them in the trash.

I am not big on roller Coasters so Mt. Everest is out for me. My favorite ride is the Kilimanjaro Safari. I love the animals and you see something different everytime you ride it.

Animal Kingdom is a hole. A complete waste of time and money. If you want to take the family to a zoo-theme park combination go to Busch Gardens. It is far and away the better of the two parks and only about an hour away from WDW.
