I don't hate emos, I hate the perversion the subculture has become, no resemblance to what it once was. It was originally an 'emotive hardcore,' to put that simpler, hardcore music with emotional lyrics. Now 'to be emo' all you have to do is wear your hair down over one eye, dye it black, wear skin-tight jeans, and whine about how they hate their comfertable suburban life. It's not what it was during It's inception. With MTV's perversion of emo, we've gotten a 'musical subculture' whose music has nothing in common with what the original emo was - Taking Back Sunday, My Chemical Romance, all these newer bands many call 'emo' are moot to the subculture in general. Embrace and Rites Of Spring were emo, this new (for the lack of a better term) crap, is not. Make no mistake, I was never 'emo,' and I never will be, if theres been any subculture I'm active in, It's Industrial/Rivethead. But any subculture, whether it be the hip-hoppers, the metalheads, the emos, or the goths, are great - the "version" (not even worthy of that word) created by 13 year olds longing to be differant does NOT gain my respect. Ironicly, these 13 year olds wanting to be differant all conform under a differant standard, thus their quest for originality is stunted, and they're not differant.

Well, I don't hate them - I just find them annoying because they're always so sad and yet, most likely, don't suffer from actual depression.

I really don't hate anyone at all. Some people are haters , and the easiest targets are those who are "not like us."

They think they're goth, when they're definitely not; plus, they glorify cutting, which should NEVER be glorified. Cutting is nothing to be proud of.
