He wouldn't be independant for long. Such a candidate would be full of surprises--some not so good.

Another prominent “independent” Ross Perot was right when he said, “If you pass the NAFTA you will hear a large sucking sound of jobs flowing out of this country.”
I believe Ross had the right ideas, vision, and management models for reforming how our govenment and how to get things done. I believe he came so close to acutally having a shot at winning the presidency he scared himself and backed out. If we really are serious about taking back our government with an independent party we should go back and study Mr. Perot’s campaign.

That would depend on the individual. If it's someone who is willing and able to work to develop a new consensus with members of Congress it could really help change things. If they come in with an agenda without consensus then the dysfunction could increase.
Though unlikely, for any third party candidate to have a hope of winning they would have to be a consensus builder and inspire passion for positive ideals, and not an angry person who inspires passion for the negatives.

That won't happen, but if it did little would change. To get real unprecedented change there needs to be and independent president and an independent congress.

Not much, business as usual. But it isn't happening, certainly not in '08. There's a war on and this country is going to elect someone from the two main parties to deal with it.

We would have a president from neither Democratic or Republican party. It would largely depend on who the independant is. They could be worse than the major party candidates or they could be better or the same.

not much different would happen. Things will go the way things do, the house and senate will keep everything grinding along at a snails pace.

This is very likely a moot question. It will probably not happen in our lifetimes unless something very drastic happens to this Country's political system.
