I have never owned one (can't afford one yet) but I used to work for the kirby company selling them and as soon as I can save up enough money for one I will deffinitly be buying one. They are amazing to me, so very powerful. I used to bring them to clients houses for the trial and I was amazed every time at how much it removed from carpets and furniture, even after the client had vaccuumed with their own vaccum. Good choice, and if you ever have any problems contact you local retailer, they will also provide you with a free maintainace cleaning and upgrades. Congrats :)

I'm a tech at a Vac shop. It's almost daily that customers trade in Kirbys for something cleaner, lighter, and less cumbersome. They hold up for a long time, but they are just to hard to use and don't have very good filtration. There are vacuums so much better for a fraction of the price out there. Another big problem is getting warranty work done. It's hard to find that door to door sales kid again if you have a problem with it. But at least you didn't buy a Dyson. The best brands out there are Miele, Sebo, Riccar, and Simplicity.

I have one that is about 16 years old. It still works great. I bought a Hoover that barely lasted a year. kirby is expensive but last a heck of long time. So in the long run it may be cheaper.

If I were U I'd look 4 a second hand 1. Most of that $2300, goes 2 the sales man. They R good at the job they're designed 2 do, I have allergies also & the more dust/hair U hoover up, the better. Don't 4get 2 hoover UR bed regually 2.

Yes, I also have 2 Kirbys, and they are much better than Dyson. Dyson is all hype AND junk.

Get a Dyson. It takes no bags, doesn't lose suction, and is worth all the money you pay for it. Kirby's belts break all the time.

Yes, I am. It's very good. The only disadvantages are that the bags are too expensive. I'm hoping cheap off-brand replacements become available. And using the attachments could be a little more convenient. But it definitely cleans very well.
