Usually about 1 month per half inch of hair. The longer your hair is the longer they can go back. Quite often they only use about the first inch and 1/2 from the root. So that would be about 90 days. However you really arent going to know how much they are going to take until you are there.
Also FYI, if your hair is too short, they will take hair from where ever. If you are some freak with no hair at all, they can scrape the fingernails

Until the hair is cut off.
Once it grows past about 1/4 inch it actually dies, so none of the drug residues remaining INSIDE the hair are cleaned out. The history can go back YEARS (depending on the speed of your hair growth).
I just checked, and hair grows about 1/4 inch - 1/2 inch per month, so....
Hairlength in inches * 4 = number of months in "history"... divide that by 12 and You get the number of Years...

They're in your hair forever, unless you bleach your hair or have cut all your hair off about 1 month after doing the narcotics.
