What are You Opinions about Harry Reid of Congress and why?

First - Harry Reid is not of Congress, he is a senator. He became the Senate majority leader due to his long time in office. Reid represents Nevada in the Senate and has been returned to office because of his efforts for Nevada. Not all Nevadans would agree that everything he is doing is what Nevada wants but then no other representative would get such a following. Most of what Senator Reid has done is acceptable but I do not support his efforts to give amnesty to illegal aliens (this alone has lost him more respect from Nevada voters than any other issue). Most folks from Nevada feel he is supporting the large Nevada Casino's interests more than the nations interests. If the illegal aliens were removed from Las Vegas many of the clubs (and other business in Las Vegas) would be in trouble. I have not looked at who contributed to his campaign but my guess is a lot of his funding came from the casinos.

I think he's right on the Iraq War, but wrong on just about everything else.

For example, he's not among the members of Congress that have received F grades from Madeline Albright's "Save Darfur" warmongering coalition. He's certainly wrong about fiscal issues, as most politicians are, regardless of party.

He's no Ron Paul, but he ranks among the better members of Congress. Unfortunately, the Democrats are so busy trying to decide between Global Warming Alarmist (and Creator of the Internet) Al Gore, the crazy former first lady Hillary Clinton (she was called the 'class commie' in college), Charismatic but substanceless Barack Obama, and pro-military slavery John Edwards that they won't even consider nominating Reid or Pelosi, who are probably the 2 most qualified members of their party for the White House (though I doubt Nancy would want the demotion).

My opinion of blowing in the wind Harry Reid are in the very lowest regions, a place where decent people don't speak of, he's a coward {moral} anti American, disrespect full of our troops and their sacrifices and it matters not if you are for or against the war !!! our troops are there, he is or has ripped off the public with shady real estate deals, this could go on and on, so I'll stop now....................

I'm baffled out how he acquired the respect of enough Democrat Senators to become their leader! Harry Reid is one of the few Dem. Senators who is pro-life (or "anti-choice") re: abortion. He has voted against a "sense of the Senate resolution" that said Roe v. Wade was a correct and valid interpretation of the Constitution; he also told Robert Bork that the reason he (Harry) was voting against Bork for the Supreme Court was because he was worried that Bork might NOT reverse Roe v. Wade.

He's one of the worst "Washington weasels" we have. Reid doesn't care that most Americans don't want amnesty. He just plows ahead and is trying to shove this piece of crap down our throats.
