Hypothetically speaking.... You cheat, he/she will never know, do you say something? Or do you keep it to yourself?

That's a matter of how much character, refinement, class, maturity, and dignity you have.
It's really at this point not even about telling the other person who you have offended. At this point it's about who you are...and you can hide who you really are all your life in this world if you so choose. Afterall, it's you who has to look in the mirror everyday and see that face, nobody else.

Speaking from experience (the cheating was not done by me) I would say keep to yourself. If they never find out why tell them and hurt them with all the details. As long as you are sure it never ever happens again don't say anything to spare the others feelings.

At first....I keep it to myself. But I think about it and make sure I have a damn good reason for my actions in case i do get caught. Knowing why youre cheating is very important.

If the cheating continues for some time then you have to really look at yourself and your relationship and think about going to get counseling. I mean you cant go on forever, you have to be true to yourself at somtime.

Mine's coming up pretty quick haha

I'm the type of person who would never cheat unless I PLANNED on telling him what I did. My guilty conscious would get the best of me if I didn't.
Besides - I wouldn't cheat unless I was seriously unhappy. And if I was THAT unhappy - I'd just leave instead of cheating.

I guess if it would never happen again and i have extreme regret i would keep it a secret. It would really make me think though if i really did love my husband or not. Why did i cheat? I am not sure if i would be able to carry that guilt around either.

Keep it to yourself. I think if you feel guilty and tell the truth you are relieving yourself of the guilt and causing someone pain. If it was a one time deal, move on. Just make sure you didn't contract something.

I wouldn't tell unless I was directly asked. I am a bad liar--and I don't like to be lied to. Then again, I don't like cheating or being cheated on either.

Come out with the truth. Unless you want to live with that thought the rest of your life. What if he finds out later on. This can damage the whole relationship.

Well, your premise is flawed because I believe that my partner will eventually find out about everything I do. So then the question really is, do you want him or her to find out now or later, and from you or from someone else?
