It is always good to be active in the online community your site is about. Look for blogs and forums that are about things related to your business and participate. Comment on blogs, provide answers to people's questions at forums.
You can include the link to your business in your signature for your forum posts. Blogs also allow to specify your website URL and link your Name with it.
Don't spam blogs and forums with useless posts and comments. participate and get recognized. If you really help people out and/or get recognized as an expert in the subject matter, people will start mentioning by themselves or even link to you from their websites, free.
What goes around, comes around is a saying that applies to this principle. Best of all, it's fun and feels good. You also will make new friends and partners and use those for additional things that are important to you and your business.

If you are located in one of the cities served by this website then your business can be listed for free. You will have to provide a reciprocal link if your business isn't in one of the main categories.
