I've been taught that self talk is internal dialogue. You probably "self talk" and didn't realize it. I do it all the time!Self talk can be negative and it can be positive.
Negative: (thinking) "Man, that was a stupid thing to say. I wish that I had thought before opening my big mouth."
Positive: (thinking) "Hey! I handled that situation really well."
Self talk can be a good thing as long as it is not constantly negative and hurtful to your self esteem. Treat yourself well!

Up to a point it is normal and healty for an adult, say, watching his favorite show on TV, and watching the superbowl.
You don't have to be on a reality show to express self thought out loud. It is perfectly healthy to show your enthusiasm for the action taking place at a football game or in a movie while watching TV.
Some acts of enthusiasm and self expression when you get a great news or the reaction when you get a bad one would be normal also.
What is not normal is sitting around having a monologue without having a specific thing in front of you (i.e. superbowl) to adress it.
The only time you can get away with actual self talk is if you are aware that you are in a reality show or making a home movie of your daily life and sometimes saying things out loud to let the viewers know about your thoughts, hence increase the popularity of your show by further entertaining people.
For the regular people who are not living without cameras in their lives, it is best to limit that self talk to the TV or computer screen. There is not a single red-blooded human being that will not do self talk and show enthusiasm while they are watching a game or a show that they are passionate about after waiting in suspense.
I am pretty sure you do it every so often unless there are people around you every single time you ever watch something on TV, or read something appalling on the internet, to direct those thoughts and expressions.
Hope this helps.

It's a conversation between your conscious and your sub conscious (mind). The other part of your brain is telling you to act something but the other side tells you not to (sub) because it's dangerous or not good for you. Your subconscious is your spirit telling you a reason. I'm sure you can feel it when you are trying to argue something inside your head. I recommend reading "Mind Magic" by Marta Hiatt. You can find it in the Psychology section in the bookstore.

Self talk sounds crazy, but works. My football/wrestling coach swears by it. If you're working out, just be like "Ya, come on frozenroadrunner, come on!" or when you wake up in the morning and you're combing your hair be like "yaaaa, im lookin good today".

It's up to you.
Some people have up to 5 or 6 different voices in their head, having various relationships with each other.
I only have 3 total. I have a primary, I have a second-guesser, and the third one, I think that one's my mother, because it always says what she would say.

Seems quite odd to me. I guess I am one with myself. One voice, one mind. Focus, conviction, and tranquility.
