The TRUE reason for alot of fears is loss of control over one's immediate environment and life...and most of all, the fear of death......which is really the fear of what will happen to them in eternity and the truth that they know inside....that they have sinned and they will be accountable before God and subject to judgment ....I F they leave this world without asking Jesus as their personal Savior....That is the absolute TRUTH whether psychology wants to recognize it or not...and I totally doubt that they do....They (the profession) do not even want to acknowledge the TRUTH that people can leave their bodies during clinical death and if they can be brought back, that they
have gone into and experienced the TRUTH of ETERNITY.
Even the epistle to the Hebrews talks about the fear of death.
Read chapter 2. In ch. 9:27, the Word of God talks about the absolute certainty of giving account before God. Also read
Acts 17 and Romans, chapter 2. Also John 8:24 and Jn 3:36
Without Jesus, you (whoever) SHOULD be afraid...You should
be absolutely TERRIFIED of what lies beyond mortal life....
The fear of doctors is fear of pain and finding out that you might have a terminal disease == fear of death = fear of
judgment....
Afraid of the dark...You don't want to die without Jesus!!!
Afraid of fire......The absolute final judgment for those who refuse to come to Jesus and ask forgiveness of sins by virtue of His Blood Sacrifice on the cross for each and every one of us...WILL BE in the Lake of Fire.... Rev. 20:15.
THIS I S GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!
I tell you (whosoever) this in absolute sincerity and seriousness......No mattter what you might think of me for saying all this, it is all true....and it is YOUR eternity that is at stake!!!
Please read John 5:24 and John 3:16,17
DEATH came into this world because of Adam's disobedience.
The wages of sin is death.......ETERNAL DEATH.....
Because of Adam, we were ALL born in spiritual death and anyone who leaves this world without asking Jesus to save them will still be spiritually dead and will be condemned for-ever!!! That's why Jesus said YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN!!
The very fact that Jesus, the Son of God, came into this world and died a horrible and painful death, enduring the judgment for ALL of our sins, is the PROOF to any THINKING person who is willing to be HONEST with themselves....that HELL is absolutely real and that God paid the highest price possible to
keep us OUT OF THERE.....but it is up to EACH and every person to receive the mercy and grace of God, purchased for us with the precious BLOOD of the Lamb - Jesus --
Psychology isn't going to help you when you are standing be-fore God one day!!! It's interesting to learn about, but it will not save you when you are dying and going into eternity!!!
Psychology deals with the SOUL == mind, will, and emotions == but you are a SPIRIT BEING made in the image and like-ness of Almighty God...and you HAVE a SOUL and you LIVE in a physical body. YOU (whoever) need to be REDEEMED and BORN AGAIN by the Spirit of God if you would escape ETERNAL JUDGMENT....and it is NOT God Who wants you to go to hell. He sent His Son to keep you OUT of Hell, but He
will NOT take your choice and free will away from you or any-one else -- and so it is the RESPONSIBILITY to CHOOSE God's MERCY and GRACE by an act of your own will.
Man was already condemned. God did not condemn anyone!
God is giving you A WAY OUT.....THE ONLY WAY OUT...but you need to make your choice before you leave this world and
you have NO guarantee as to how long you have to be in this world.....
DON'T play Russian Roulette with ETERNITY -- You will LOSE
--- FOREVER!!! =(
With Love and God's Grace and Blessings to you all!!!! =)

Ultimately, to the person who has the phobia, no phobia is ridiculous. We on the outside, who don't have, say, a fear of peaches, may see the person who suffers from this phobia and think that they are completely ridiculous. But to the person with the phobia, it's a very REAL fear; it's something that they can't control, even though they probably really want to. As such, it's not laughing matter, nor is it ridiculous. People suffering from phobias deserve our compassion and help, not our laughter and judgment.

I think all of them are 'fear of death' in one form or another.
Most are completely irrational. It makes better sense to take precautions than to have a fear.

Coming from a person who has a true phobia of fish, no phobia is ridiculous. They are all a 10.

Wow, lots of things to answer, although my answer is this:
Nothing that may be fearful to someone is ridiculous to me as I do NOT walk in their shoes, so who am I to judge whether they are ridiculous or not?
and.......................What's "normal???" Again what you or I might think/believe as normal may be weird or abnormal for someone else. It is not up to us to figure out what is good or not for one and another it is that person's personal choice and what makes them feel comfortable or uncomfortable.
