Why has it suddenly become the "rage" to try & cause conflict, doubt, & confusion where there truely isn't any? Why has the U.S. govt. turned it's back on the clear constitution statements of keeping "church & state" separate? Why is the govt defying the constitutional articles & funding religious groups? Why the conflict about evolution now? There is no facts to prove "Intelligent Design" - ask a pregnant woman or an athlete - there is nothing intelligent about the human body's design. It's fragile, painful, illogical & there are still pieces inside that don't even seem to have any purpose. You can even take them out! If there was any intelligence to the design it would be less of a mess. But it isn't. Why are some races or people from certain geographic areas different than others? It's called biodiversity, adaption to the environment. Today we have evolved mentally to survive better in almost any environment. But we seem to have some throw-backs to the "dark ages" in thinking!!

If those that are religious feel threatened or think that they "need" to prove their beliefs...then they doubt.
There are honest religious groups, who are secure in their beliefs who are not screaming foul or demanding that their religion is the only "true" one.
My writing, at least I'm trying to ask questions, I'm seek honest answers. I will not be a contented sheep to be lead by others who think their "divinely" ordained to rule over the poor heathen idiots. In this century, one would think man would be above these petty prejudices. It's one world, if we keep screwing it up - which we are all guilty of in some form. Where will we go? Don't give me that rapture routine either - unless you've a heavenly golden ticket signed by christ there's no guarantee! It'll be a kodak moment when it doesn't happen...all those confused people as the world goes into meltdown!
So if we don't get our collective rears into gear - it's going to be the DAY after TOMORROW movie in reality!

People fear what they do not understand. Its easier to stand by the Bible than accept actual scientific evidence. This country was founded on the basis of religion, and unfortunately, not enough scientists have been voted into office to combat all of their idiotic thinking. No one wants to go against "god" because it also goes against their personal beliefs and the way they were raised. Changing thinking seems to mean that their whole lives were based on lies and people cannot accept that. Until people get into office that put the needs of citizens over the needs of an invisible deity, there will be no real changes in the government with respect to the topics you are referring to. Religion has become popular again... what can ya do? VOTE!

1) It's not a movement. There has always been, since at least the Renaissance, a religious attack upon science. Remember how Galileo was treated?
2) The Constitution actually makes no statement on "the separation of church and state". That came from Thomas Jefferson. Read the Constitution to check to see that I'm right. The constitution just states that the government shall not establish religion.
3) Please take a writing course. Your singular/plural and tense disagreements are distracting and make you sound more like a ranting zealot than an informed thinker.

They like to cloud history into meaning that simply because the country was founded by people trying to practice there religion in peace that only that religious principle should be used in deciding public policy, if I'm not mistaken in another hundred years this country will break off into different colonies to try to find religious freedom (that's freedom from religion). It's a vicious circle

I don't know where you've been, but this has been going on since science first appeared on the scene about 600 years ago and shows no sign of abating.

I agree with a previous answer. This is more than one question. If children are forced to learn about evolution and other similar ideas such as the Big Bang Theory-- which by the way, are not all true, they are not "facts" not all theories in science have been proven-- then there is no reason they shouldn't be able to learn about Creation and other "theories". Sure, some may say that this could be offensive to athiests or someone who doesn't believe in God, but is equally as offensive for Christians to learn about things they don't believe true.

that is all i have to say.

"which by the way, are not all true, they are not "facts" not all theories in science have been proven"

You might want to check the definitions of 'proof', 'fact' and 'theory' in science before trying to convince people that creationism has any validity as science.

You have it backwards....the nationwide movement is to debunk religion by using science.....don't forget, religion was here first.
