The will more than likely do a necropsy (animal autopsy) to find out exactly why the animal died. Typically, they might also take the bones from the animal as artifacts. However, as whale sharks are cartilaginous fish and have no bones, they obviously won't be taking any bones.

After they finish the necropsy, they will probably have the animal's remains cremated.
