The only child?

Question

How come it seems like everybody but me has siblings, aunts cousins? I have neither because my parents are only children and I am the only child, I get jealous when people start talking about how many people are coming over for Christmas dinner or thanksgiving. My dad works alot so sometimes its just me and my mom all the time.
Last year my mom said that she would go to the docter to see if she could have another baby( or adopt) if I made above a 3.5 each quarter of my senior year and I stopped drinking soda, well I did accomplish it, but my dad intervened so it didn't happen.

My daughter is the only child and I hear her say all the time how alone it feels. She, like yourself have to hear of stories of others and I can imagine that you must feel left out. My daughter is 13 and I'm going to try to have another child so that she will have someone that looks up to her and someone that hopefully will be there for her when I'm gone. Good on your mother for trying to do something and shame on your dad for never being around. Keep hasseling your mom (dont forget to remind her daily:), my daughter sure dosent forget to remind me.

being an only child isn't that bad. More for you and no one to compete with you. How about inviting a lot of friends over for Thanksgiving dinner the day after Thanksgiving or a Christmas Party the day before Christmas. You'll have the equivalent of a large family dinner.
I my family there's only my brother and I. The rest of our family lives very far away. that what we do and it feels just as good as having actual family over.
Or you might want to ask your mom for a foster brother or sister. If you ahve an extra room in your house, you can have exchange students over.

I feel like that also, but sometimes being an only child is for the best. :)
